GUATEMALA ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS

• Marriage or singles (women).


• Some orphanages do not accept singles.

• Some orphanages do not accept families with biological children.


• Some orphanages do not accept previously divorced marriages with children of other couples

PROCEDURES AFTER ASSIGNMENT

• Once a family receives and accepts the assignment of a minor, brought Guatemala's attorney making the claim in court.


• The adoption process can be extended from 6 to 8 months.


• Once the judge issues the order for adoption is to be written before a Notary and family can then pick up your child.
